A survey which saw the participation of 2,000 British couples has been conducted by Bensons for beds.
The study discovered that women are missing out on an average of 3 hours of sleep a night, which equates to 105 hours a year or 45 days of sleeplessness.
1 in 3 women woke up every night, where only 2 in 10 men did the same. 1 in 2 women said they feel constantly sleep deprived.
With quite a variety of reasoning behind their sleep problems, one factor clearly stood out. 1 in 4 women claimed that their partner’s snoring was the culprit.
14% claimed kids to be the problem, getting up to tend to their needs and a third truly believe that their partners seem to just be ‘better at sleeping’ than them.
This leaves 73% of women being left rather frustrated with a third feeling depressed.
Helen Nunn, from Bensons for Beds, said:
“Sleep – or lack of sleep – can affect so many aspects of our day-to-day lives.
“It’s worrying to see that this research has found women are getting less sleep and feeling more tired than their male counterparts.”
Bensons for Beds sleep expert, Stephanie Romiszewski added:
“It makes sense that men and women have different sleep needs – we are in some ways very different.
“What with hormonal changes that come with menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause, the biological differences alone are huge. With this in mind, it’s really helpful for us to get into a few good sleep habits that can help get us through.”
There is a pillow which could help your partner get through the night – the Anti-Snore Pillow from Kally Sleep could be the solution to all your problems.
According to the Kally Sleep team:
“The Anti-Snore pillow has been designed to help reduce snoring. Tested by the British Snoring & Sleep Apnoea Association, the Anti-Snore pillow can reduce snoring frequency and volume by 50 percent.”
The pillow has received some rather great reviews and at the price of £29.99, it may be worth the spend to save your waning relationship.
