When Something Bad Happens I Do This And My Problems Melt Into InSignificance

Life is full of ups and downs and I am sure that we have all at one point or another experienced terrible things that make you feel as if your life will never get better.

If you have ever suffered from heartbreak then you will definitely know what I am talking about. In the past 3 or 4 years I have been on a journey of self-exploration and one of the most useful tools I have picked up on in that time is the lesson of having perspective. It’s the ability to take a step back and almost have a bird’s eye view of yourself and whatever problems you may be going through. Literally try to picture looking at yourself from above, then from this birds view perspective keep going higher and higher until you are high up in the sky and can see only a tiny dot which is you. Keep rising until you go way up into the outer atmosphere and usually I keep going into space and make a stop on the moon/ It’s at this point I imagine myself standing there and looking back at the planet.

Only astronauts who have actually done this can have an accurate understanding of the feeling you would get standing up there. The closest we can get to is to really close your eyes and try to feel as if you are there, it is completely silent and you are staring at a beautiful green spinning planet which is in the middle of space and every person you have met you can hold in the palm of your hands.

Doing this reminds us of where we are and what our greater purpose is. From out there on the moon you will be far too busy being in awe at the sheer beauty of our planet and the vastness of space. You will see that all those people down there on the planet have forgotten where they are and are too caught up paying bills and dealing worrying about thing that really don’t matter. It will make you feel as if you want to grab them by the scruff of their neck and tell them to enjoy their life and get on with it!

Try putting this into practice and see how it helps you move on with your life.
