Strategic thinking is a process that defines the manner in which people think about, assess, view, and create the future for themselves and others. Strategic thinking is an extremely effective and valuable tool. One can apply strategic thinking to arrive at decisions that can be related to your work or personal life.

I first discovered strategical thinking through acting, when undergoing the study of a character or script, there are a deep analysis and research that goes into putting yourself into someone’s circumstance and the intentions of the character. This deep research and study go in into detail of every move, every action every objective. In an interesting scene, each character has an objective and there is usually something in the way of that character getting what they want. It takes some serious strategical thinking to study human behavior and I realized I was missing out not doing it in my own life!

In combination when studying human psychology in my NLP Practitioner Training, I was able to then use strategical thinking, planning and implementing in a way to achieve my goals and help others to achieve exactly what they want.

As the year is coming to an end, now is the time to start planning to set ourselves up for success in 2018. Plan each moment and don’t leave it to fate and stratigical thinking is a simple process to help you do that. ♥

Strategical thinking involves:

♥ Evaluating what you are currently doing.
♥ Planning.
♥ Setting goals.
♥ Working on a method to bring about a desired future.
♥ Checking what is working what isn’t working.
♥ If something doesn’t work, don’t be put off, figure out why and how to make it better.
♥ Thinking micro and macro – Think of the bigger picture, as well as the mini picture with all the details.
♥ Thinking about where you want to be in a year from now, to influence your today.
♥ Make decisions by getting knowledge from all different resources.
♥ Evaluate outcomes from the bigger picture.
♥ Action

Use strategic thinking to get transformation and change, to accept and embrace your weaknesses, to change what you wanted to be done differently, to grow and to become your best version of you.

Life is about: What we want, Why we want it and How we are going to get it. – Steller Adler.

What do you want?

Everything we do in life has an intention. We are always wanting something, what are you wanting to do or intend to bring about? Figure out your super objective and what is you really want, then make small purposeful action steps towards this super objective each day. Get clear on your want before you do anything else. Then you are able to strategically decide, is this action moving me towards or away from my intent?

Why do you want it?

When you emotionally connect to your “why” with your goal this is how you drive motivation. If your goal is to make a million, it sounds great, but when you connect with WHY: for freedom, to change the peoples lives around you, to go deep to your core and the feeling about why you really want your goal, this will motivate you to then take the next steps.

How are you going to get it?

Focus on Intention instead of results.
Create a compelling vision of the future that motivates action.
Focusing on the intention is how you will get what you want because you will feel inspired, this not only helps take the pressure off overwhelm but also gives you the determination to overcome obstacles and current circumstances. How do you want to feel? How do you want to make others feel?
Seeing the bigger vision has helped me push through the hardest times of my life and kept me moving forward no matter what circumstance.

Vision = Motivation = Action = Results

Now: what is my first step?

Obstacles

There are always going to be obstacles in the way,
but being prepared means you can overcome them. Just like preparing to go to war, you would have to think of all aspects of obstacles you could possibly face in order to win.

Outer Obstacles: Is there anything outside stopping you from achieving your goal? Family? Spouse? Environment?  First become aware, then figure out the next step to overcome it.

Inner Obstacles: Including shyness, self-belief, stubbornness, ask yourself what are my inner obstacles that could hold me back from getting to where I want to be? What are my strengths and my weaknesses? How can I overcome these? What do I need?

Take all of your weaknesses then turn them into strength to get a breakthrough.

Preparation

To get to where you want to be, what do you need to do to prepare? Do you need to learn something specific, invest in training, hire a coach? What are your unique abilities? Preparation leads to confidence.

Taking Action

“Madness is doing the same thing over and over again expecting to get the same results.”

Andrew Carnegie, identified as one of the richest people in the world; was working with Charles M. Schwab – Charles said he had an idea that could change the world, and Carnegie told him “Me too, if you have an idea that can help me execute all of these ideas I have I will pay you whatever you want.”

We all have the same time. But its what we do with our time is what makes a difference.

Time is one thing we can’t buy, even though we all have the same amount of time, its what energy and focus we use at this time is what will determine our destiny.

The solution: Schwab told him – before you go to bed write out 6 most important goals, then when you wake up DO THEM.
Not small things, the most transformational life-changing things that will change your life.

He said if you do that, you will be more effective. Doing it once that needs to be done will lead to the possibility of success. Spend your time focusing on the most important and life-changing aspects of your life and stop doing 20 things at once.Turn your focus to one thing at a time until it’s done then move to the next.

So to take action and get things done, write 6 most important things every night to do tomorrow before you wake up – wake up and do them.  If you do that you will be more effective.

♥

You can have everything you want in life.
Figure out what you want, then be a strategic thinker to get exactly that.

Strategical thinking made simple:

♥  Set aside 20 minutes per day in the morning to think and plan your day and vision your future.

♥  Plan steps with a purpose that aligns with your values and vision.

♥  Focus your time and energy on the right things.

♥ Assess goals each month.

Enjoy the journey its not something you get its what you are becoming its infinite in terms of growth. The journey never ends.
