A ‘revolutionary’ startup by Bill Gates and Richard Branson aims to get rid of “animal slaughter.” The start-up predicts that the world will no longer have the need to kill animals to feed the human population.
The “clean meat” startup Memphis Meats has announced it has successfully completed a 17 million fundraising round.
Bill Gates and Richard Branson, among other billionaires, have given birth to a revolutionary way to make food, especially meats, through a start-up that already has $ 17 million to carry out its first tests.
Memphis Meats is a company that puts its emphasis on meat production, developing methods grow meat in a very short time, maintaining the original flavor and properties.
In February 2016, they already had succeeded in creating the first portion of manufactured beef.
Later, they began working with duck and pig cells, in order to expand their offer.

Memphis Meats method employs animal cells making them grow in a laboratory.
After about five weeks, the meat is ready to be cooked and enjoyed the way you prefer.

The company basically has found a way to grow meat in tanks by feeding oxygen, sugar, and other necessary nutrients to living animal cells.
“I’m thrilled to have invested in Memphis Meats,” said billionaire Richard Branson Branson in an email responding to questions from Bloomberg News.
“I believe that in 30 years or so we will no longer need to kill any animals and that all meat will either be clean or plant-based, taste the same and also be much healthier for everyone.”
There are numerous companies similar to Memphis meats that are Meats trying to replicate meat cells, and there are other companies that have pursued a path to try and replicate the taste of meat with plants.
