Since the industrial revolution, CO2 levels in the atmosphere have been climbing to levels that have never been seen before. Climate change is a very real issue, and this video shows everything that we need to see!
The speed in which CO2 is currently rising has no comparison in the recorded past. The fastest natural shifts out of ice ages were increases in CO2 levels by something like 35 parts per million in 1,000 years. We, humans, have emitted the equivalent to this in just the past 17 years. Burning fossil fuels like coal, gas, and oil have brought carbon from within the Earth and placed it into the atmosphere as CO2. Ever since the industrial revolution we have been causing greenhouse gasses and other emissions to skyrocket.
This is causing the climate to warm rapidly and by the end of this century, things will be much worse. For more on this please take the time to watch the video below; while it is just a few short minutes it covers almost everything you need to know.
Climate change is going to be the end of us if we don’t make efforts now to change things. We can save ourselves if we work hard enough. It is up to us to make a difference on this planet.
